LEAD EXPERT: Branding & Storytelling
Alex works across media, disciplines, categories and cultures. Born and raised in Fresno, California, he studied philosophy at Harvard and communications at COLORS Magazine under mentors Oliviero Toscani and Tibor Kalman. At 25, he became Editor-in-Chief of COLORS and has been straddling the fields of journalism, advertising and branding ever since.
Alex works directly or through agencies with some of the world’s leading brands on projects that range from product naming to television campaigning to editorial strategy to social media storytelling. A longtime collaborator of international recording artists Pink Martini, he also directs videos, writes songs and has co-produced an album with the band.
Alex served two semesters as a guest professor in Visual Communication at the Bauhaus University Weimar and has been an advisor to the DO School since its founding (he helped with the name).
